On 21st February, the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area Work Report Meeting and Industry-University-Research Cooperation Meeting was successfully held in Beijing. The meeting aimed to further develop the role of the SCODA as a source of cooperation, strengthen the docking of industrial talents and jointly build a new platform for international cooperation along the "Belt and Road" through discussions and exchanges with head enterprises in Beijing. Mr. Sohail Khan, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Mr. Zhang Xinzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Qingdao Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the SCO Demonstration Zone, attended the event and delivered a speech, while Mr. He Zhenwei, President of the China Overseas Development Association, representatives of SCO envoys in China and foreign investment institutions attended the meeting.

Since the start of its construction, the SCODA has actively participated in the implementation of the SCO consensus on economic and trade cooperation, explored cooperation paths, and made every effort to promote the construction of the "four centres" of international logistics, modern trade, two-way investment cooperation, business and tourism exchange and development, as well as the SCO Economic and Trade Academy. At present, the demonstration area has launched 56 cases of institutional innovation such as "Credit SCO", opened 29 international and domestic trains, gathered more than 2,000 trade entities of all kinds, and attracted and landed more than 70 projects with a total investment of more than 200 billion yuan.
