“Investment Opportunities in Energy Sector of Nepal”was successfully held

The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, in collaboration with China Overseas Development Association (CODA)organized an interaction programme on “Investment Opportunities in Energy Sector of Nepal”on February 24, 2023 in the Embassy premises. The main objective of the programme was to disseminate information about prospects of investment particularly in the energy sector of Nepal.

H.E. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, the Ambassador of Embassy of Nepal, Beijing, Mr. He Zhenwei, President of CODA delivered a remarks separately.

Mr. Amrit Lamsal, Joint Secretary of Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) introduced Overall Investment Environment of Nepal, Madhu Prasad Bhetuwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation of Nepal (MoEWRI) recommend Investment Opportunities in the Energy Sector of Nepal, Mr. Prabal Adhikari, Director of Energy Trade from Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) introduced Perspectives of Energy Trade in Nepal.

Mr. Tong Gang, the Chief Manager of Investment & Financing Department Ⅰ of Power China International Group Ltd., Construction International Corporation, shared his investment experience in Nepal as a representative of a Chinese-funded enterprise; Dr. Kishor Uprety, Senior Legal Advisor of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB), elaborated on the Mobilizing International Resources for the financing of hydro power projects in Nepal: Challenges and Opportunities .

More than 60 enterprise representatives from China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd, State Grid Corporation of China, AISINO Corporation Co.,Ltd, China Huadian Overseas Investment Co.,Ltd, SINOHYDRO Corporation Limited, CSIC International Engineering Co., Ltd, China Gezhouba Group Internationale Engineering Co., Ltd, CCC First Highway Engineering Group Co., Ltd, TBEA International Engineering Co.,Ltd, Machinery Technology Development Co., Ltd, China Tianying Inc, Deheng Lar Firm, and Yingke Law Firm, etc attended the promotion meeting.
